Last workshop of the bonanza was held by Rick & Steve of Saatchi’s, and was massively refreshing. They threw conventional briefs out the window and just asked us to go out with a camera and get 20 complete strangers to do something for us – only without telling them that we were students, from saatchis, or pretty much why we wanted them to do it at all. An exercise in the importance of strategy!
It was a knackering day that we spent traipsing around the parks trying to get people to relive their younger days with a nice cartwheel – and we managed to get 10 people spinning through the muddy grass – but on return to the agency it was pretty obvious we’d played it way too safe with public sex positions, shop window poses and the tour de force that was the lads’ I’ll-pretend-I’m-drowning-so-you-take-off-your-clothes-to-rescue-me-and-then-we’ve-got-you-to-take-your-clothes-off-without-asking stunt. They never fail to impress, the bastards
