Stickybits.com

This could be an interesting one to watch. It’s essentially the tired old QR system, but with a lot of plus points – for one, it’s tapping into the sheer vastness of barcode penetration instead of the seldom seen (here in the UK at least) QR matrix.

Simple enough – snap any barcode with your phone camera, and tag it with some content. Anyone else who snaps the same code then sees whatever you pinned on. Fun!

I got my kicks pinning a Pepsi logo to a 2 litre Diet Coke bottle’s barcode. Whatever next?

He’s the world’s smartest pet goldfish, and he’s powered by…you guessed it! Drench are SO back on form. Bloody love this.

Brilliant tidbits on the channel too – the ‘Goldfish Quiz Questions’ are absoruddylutely inspired.

Lovely! But what does Danni think?

Oh my! What a mouthful.

And Then There Was Salsa

click the image to watch off-site (necessary)

Quite possibly the most impressive full-page interaction I’ve come across to date – a very smart mix of video and coded page elements to bring everything together in a big tomatoey explosion for Tostito ‘Restaurant Salsa’ dips.

What’s most impressive about this bugger is that unlike any YouTube/false video player I’ve seen before, the scrub bar still works – so you can skip back and forth without having to start the whole experience again. It’s also the first time I’ve seen Vimeo allow anything that breaks the page format, which is pretty swish all on it’s lonesome.

Tomatosplosion!

Red Interactive

A rather lovely on-site chat experience from Red Interactive,  purely from it’s utterly inexplicable nuttiness.

Activate the chat through Mr Penguin and huzzah, you’re running around as a victorian avatar, blessed with the power of dance and flight. God knows why.  It decided to dress me up as a lovely lady, so naturally I jumped around shouting ‘Florence!’ and inviting people to the other side of the screen for tea.

I repeat.  God knows why.

GoogleSynth

Google appear to have rather inconspicuously ‘borrowed’ from Microsoft’s Photosynth to, well, googlesynth Flickr images into Google Maps.

Could be an interesting addition to cover the places Street View hasn’t hit yet (i.e, pretty much everywhere), especially if it’s pooling publicly available geotagged photos automatically – but why on earth they can’t just licence the actual system from Microsoft and do the job properly is beyond me.
Synth it up

DIIIIIE

Absolute gem from a few weeks back – a game where you kill things with an angry scream.  Louder you are, quicker they die.
Longing for windows right abooooout…..

…now.
