Seek ‘n Spell

seekspell

Just in time for summer comes this bloody brilliant looking app for the iPhone – Seek ‘n Spell.  It’s a lot like the Hat Game in terms of GPS malarky – a bunch of people meet outdoors, start the game together and…well…spell!

I can’t embed the video here because WordPress is a bit Nazi with all things flash – but check it out now to get a feel for this thing. Just imagine scrabble, only with giant land-marked invisible tiles that you have to run toward to add to your rack. Without the scrabble bit. It’s like sport for nerds, and I’m loving it!

Grab it from the game site here, or jump straight on to the App Store if you’ve got a pack of bored, excitable mates.

iBanter – Cobra Beer

Been waiting on this one for a while, and it’s finally hit the App Store.  Socially inept like moi?  Let your iPhone start a conversation for you!  Best experienced rather than explained.  You look considerably less of a prick when it’s moving.

Should probably mention that this is one of Mauro’s precious babies, lest he give me some sort of utterly mental spanish kicking. From China. Where he’s buggered off to for a few weeks. Sod.

Skype coming to iPhone

It’s official – Skype hits the App Store tomorrow.  It’s already gone live in Japan, and apparently it works like a dream – so keep your eyes peeled in the morning!

Rolando

Last night I went on one of my many frequent app store trudges, where I go hunting for free things for my phone that are half worth a look – but this little bugger actually convinced me to part with REAL money.  And I thoroughly suggest that everyone with an iPhone/iTouch do the same, because this is an absolute joy.

I for one was immediately drawn to it through the love I had for LocoRoco on the PSP – and this more than lives up to it if you’re wondering.  A stunning art style, brilliant original music and (most importantly) absolutely inspired gameplay.  No ‘lite’ version, so if you’re curious, throw £6 at it and get happy.

Obamaphone!

Here’s a new one for you –  supporters of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign have put together an application for the iPhone that wanders into your contact list and reshuffles them in order of the key ‘battleground’ states so you can be a good little democrat and call all your friends over to the b’rark side – and since it’s also got a hard copy of all the key speeches and political issues, you’ll be sure to get your facts right while you’re canvassing!

Available through the App Store.
