Kimberly Building Projections
I’ve been following building projections for a good while now – some brilliant, some not so great, and some just annoyingly fake – but this is a real standout example. Varied, engaging, and long lasting – 0ne of the only examples I’ve seen with genuine crowd reaction, too.
Can’t wait for an opportunity to do something with this platform before it gets tired – hands off, T-Mobile. Leave something for the rest of us!
Charlie Brooker
The angry little bugger’s waded in on the Mac vs PC debate. I snorted aloud three times, mid-office.
Even when he’s plastering my face with insults I can’t help but love him more and more.
AhhhR
I know it’s turning a bit ten-a-penny in advertising now, but I still get tingly when I see the really smart new applications of AR coming out. This would be one of those.
I’m absolutely not on board with the explaination of the player’s veiwpoint being a ‘helicopter flying over the city’ though. You’re blates a giant with a really big mobile. With guns in it. Blud.
F*cking genius clock
Order from chaos. What looks like a post-apocalyptic aerial shot of Sticktown after Line-bombing raid of ‘73 is actually a cracking little (well, giant) timepiece. Each white line is actually a hand from a standard clock motor, turning as it would, once round every 12 hours.
Some clever bugger called Christiaan Postma noticed that if you twat enough onto a board and set the hands to spell out hours instead of point to them, you can make a hypnotic display that spells out the relevant hour, exactly as it hits, before dissolving slowly back into confusion as the ghost of the next hour starts to form.
Hit the image to see it running (fast) and see what I’m on about.
Bit Flow
Utterly thieved from thegluepot, but stick with it til 0.52 and you’ll see exactly why.
Flat Plug
This is utter fucking genius. It needs putting into production right away, and I shan’t hear another word on the subject.
Unless you designed it. In which case I’d like to give you some biscuits.
LevelHead – AR Puzzle
Might be getting a little tired now, but there are still people finding some really nice implementations for AR tech. Click on through to the video and have a gander.
